Mr. Banks has performed with Roy “Tanglefoot” McCoy, Illinois Jacquet, Baby Lawrence, the Paul and Doug Bascomb Big Band, the Step Brothers, Bud Powell, Leo Parker, June Richmond, Al Grey, Ray Brown, Lionel Hampton, Johnny Coles, Frankie Scott, Joe Williams, David Young, John Blake, Rufus Reid, Ella Fitzgerald, Pearl Bailey, Sarah Vaughn, Redd Foxx, Arthur Prysock, Joe Williams, and Billy Eckstine. I was lucky enough to catch some of his gigs at MJ's Coffeehouse while I was attending Lebanon Valley College. Pure inspiration. The great Sammy Banks live at MJ's Coffeehouse.
